Dear Arlington Heights Memorial Library,
It is with great enthusiasm that I submit my application for the Digital Services Manager.
As a published author, regular blogger, podcast guest and Twitter fanatic, this position would be the opportunity of a lifetime to bring my instructional writing and project management skills to my own library.
After reading the job description and culture statement, I found my professional experience, work style and skills a good fit for the necessary qualifications for the position.
Since I graduated from college with my BA in biology, I have worked at the international bank, HSBC, while building my own small business as a professional writer. At HSBC I have been creating training materials for the 300,000 or so employees and managing content creation projects for dozens of internal clients and departments for the past 7 of those years.
I also run a popular website for amateur photographers that has led to a book deal and an Ignite talk.
My wife recently got her MLIS and I’m looking to restart my graduate studies as soon as possible. Library management plays a big role in our family.
My resume is included with greater detail. I’ll look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or 708-955-1683.
Thank you for the opportunity.
