# MIQ vs MIT

We often hear about how we should write down our Most Important Task (MIT) for the coming day — usually the night before.

Setting aside agency, which may have a lot to say about your MIT, I’ve found it way more powerful to have a Most Important Question (MIQ) for the day.

Example:

MIT: “Complete \[task\] by \[time\].”

MIQ: “What’s the best way to get to \[the outcome\].”

“The outcome” could be anything from a product to a specific dollar amount, or even a feeling (the more honest questions tackle mental outcomes, but let’s not get too heavy at the start).

A good question can resolve dozens of MITs in seconds. Give it a try.
