I took a new kind of camera out for a spin this weekend. I knew I would suck. I knew I would delete the images and sink into self-doubt about the projects I'm working on. I knew I would revert to all the old fears and limiting beliefs that kept me from making great stuff in the past.
The only answer is to get that all out of the way as quickly as possible. I'm going to suck at this for a while, then I won't. It may take 1000 shots or 10,000.
Give yourself permission to screw up a lot at a new thing. It's healthy. It means you've started something new; something worthy of being judged.
