Don't be a thought leader. It's not worth the trouble and you'd be in terrible company.
Blogging since the 90s, I've learned the happiest people publishing online are the ones who lead by example, not by proclamation.
Build something: a product, a book, a service, whatever. Build a solid foundation and blog about the process. Blog about the challenges, the equipment, the platforms and everything else your reader is probably struggling with as well.
Then make more and blog more.
It's not about building a business necessarily. It's about building a body of work you can be proud of. It's about building relationships with people who will make your life better.
