My Holy Grail Pen and Paper

Writers spend way too much time and money seeking out their “grail” pen and paper combo — the tools that will make their work so much “smoother.” It’s a pattern we’ve seen repeated in all creative pursuits.

I did that for a while, many years ago, but it faded as I started concentrating more on shipping creative output over everything else.

While I was on vacation last month, I realized that I had been using the same cheap paper and pen combo for years without complaint. I had found my grail, without knowing it and without breaking the bank.

If you focus on creative process and output, the equipment will usually figure itself out.
