What’s your creative refuge?
I did a stupid thing.
I had a summer packed with content strategy work — mostly about AI and mostly with big tech companies.
For some reason, I decided this meant I had to really buckle down and never leave my keyboard. I took only one vacation day for the entire summer.
The day off was part of a fun weekend of “glamping” with friends in Michigan. The kids went free-range, the sunset was epic, and our tents were struck by lightning. All awesome.
When I came back, my brain was reset enough to overcome some creative problems that were stumping me.
We all know this is a real thing.
We all have examples of the reset.
BUT
We all need to be reminded – constantly.
I’m sending this out today to remind you.

In another example of AI-I (artificial intelligence inflation), my practice amp now has AI for some reason. I guess they didn’t read that AI in marketing copy is a sales killer.
I love following Dave Lawrence and Jamie Thingelstad, especially for their photos of what leisure looks like in the midwest and why we all need to take more time off around here — this doesn’t last.
